United Methodist Men

“The ministry of United Methodist men in the local church is defined as a core group of men, partnering with their pastor, to invite and initiate spiritual growth opportunities for all men of the church.” — from the General Commission on UMM

The men of Lakeside UMC are active and involved in the life of the church. They typically meet monthly for fellowship, a meal and a program. The men serve in various ways throughout the church but are also active socially. They attend baseball games and other events together.

One of the primary annual projects is their Brunswick stew sale which is very popular and takes places in the fall and winter months. Watch this website for information about the stew sale.

Another project of the UMM is our annual UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) Hygiene Supplies Kit drive or "Kits for Conference."  Our church collects items and money to purchase items for these kits which are used for humanitarian relief around the world.  The men assemble the kits and help collect and load them from area churches as one of the main drop off points for Richmond.

ROMEOS
"Retired Old Men Eating Out Sometimes"

We meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 8:00 AM for good food and fellowship.  Breakfast is at the Golden Corral off of Gaskins Rd.

You need not be retired, nor old—possessing a good appetite is required.
